Granger Bay parking and landscaping upgrade complete

02 July 2025

The City’s Spatial Planning and Environment Directorate is pleased to announce that we have now concluded the upgrade of the Sea Point promenade and Granger Bay parking area. This is great news, seeing that the project has been delayed due to the poor performance of the previous contractor. Residents and visitors will now benefit from the improvements.

‘We thank residents for their patience while the works were under way and apologise for the prolonged construction period. Residents from across Cape Town can now enjoy the newly upgraded Granger Bay parking area and landscaping. The completion of the footway and coping at the Rocklands Beach is still due for repairs in the coming months pending a structural assessment of the concrete slab supporting the footway. We will keep residents informed of the progress,’ said the City’s Deputy Mayor and Mayoral Committee Member for Spatial Planning and Environment, Alderman Eddie Andrews.
